FODMAP diet for IBS

Personal guidance increases your chances of success

A Low-FODMAP diet can help, but many people get stuck trying it on their own.

Do you experience bloating, abdominal pain, wind, diarrhoea, or constipation? Your gut may be sensitive to certain foods.

For 75–80% of people with IBS, symptoms improve significantly with a Low-FODMAP diet, if applied correctly and personalised.

What is the Low FODMAP diet?

FODMAPs are certain carbohydrates that can cause bloating, gas, and abdominal discomfort in many people.

The aim of the diet is not to remove as many foods as possible, but to discover:

  • whether you are sensitive to FODMAPs

  • Which FODMAPs trigger your symptoms

  • in what quantity they are tolerated

This way you learn to enjoy food again, without unnecessary symptoms.

The FODMAP diet consists of 3 phases:

Phase 1: FODMAP elimination (2–6 weeks)

Calm your gut and find out if a low FODMAP approach helps, without completely changing your eating habits.

  • We will look at your current diet, symptoms and lifestyle
  • Familiar meals are adjusted to be low-FODMAP
  • This makes the diet achievable and suitable for your life

Important:many people experience relief from symptoms after 2 weeks. This provides confidence and motivation to continue

Phase 2: FODMAP reintroduction (6–8 weeks)

This is the most important phase of the diet and often the phase where people get stuck when trying it alone.

  • FODMAPs are systematically reintroduced, one by one and in increasing doses
  • This way we discover:

    • Which FODMAPs cause symptoms
    • from which amount
    • In which combinations

Why personal guidance is essential here:

  • You learn exactly what your body can tolerate
  • You prevent complaints from recurring or from having too many restrictions

Phase 3: Personalisation

The goal: a sustainable and personalised diet.

  • Your triggers are clear
  • Restrictions are minimal
  • Prebiotics and other important nutrients are optimally absorbed

This way you know exactly what your body can toleraten, even in the long term, and you can enjoy food again without fear or stress.
